Rick Alford Teaches Woman's Self Defense
Women’s Self Defense Clinic Offered by Defensive Edge Empowered Participants
Wakefield, MA, May 29th. The Women’s Self-Defensive Clinic recently held at the Beebe Library and offered free by Defensive Edge Martial Arts Academy was attended by 17 women and was designed to empower them with skills and tactics in the event of an attack.
Rick Alford, Defensive Edge Founder and Head Instructor, reviewed safety strategies, powerful verbal skills, and easy to remember physical techniques in this two-hour Women’s Self-Defense Clinic. In addition, the program raised awareness of dangerous situations, showed participants how to de-escalate or interrupt an attack, and provided tools to help resist, escape and survive a violent attack.
Says Grace Rossino, “I loved the class. It reinforced what I've already known about self-defensive plus Sensei Rick gave me so much more. I wasn't crazy with the idea of having to reenact a potential crime against me. Yet by doing so, I felt more empowered. I also feel more informed about how to handle certain situations.”
